The Butler County Soil trailer came, and students learned about what makes up soil.  We completed a scavenger hunt looking for various things that might be in soil from fossils, insects, other animals, parts of plants, and man made objects such as as storm drains and wells.

 

As we approach the end of the school year, we are enjoying fun and creative ways to celebrate all of our hard work and learning throughout the school year. We painted bird houses to gift to our families on “craft day” and enjoyed practicing our teamwork skills on “game day”!

Ms. Calhoun’s class is working on addition problems. Students used jelly beans or M&Ms to make the numbers on the addition flash card. Then they chose which number was bigger before counting on from the bigger number by moving their counter from one group to the other. Once they finished, they could eat their snack!

 

Spring was in full bloom at Ridgeway Elementary’s Family Reading Night!  Our students had a blast diving into new stories, tackling fun activities, and getting their hands dirty planting flowers and making delicious dirt cups.
